Blog

With this blog I mainly want to inspire you. The posts are based on my experience. It can be a coaching I did, a presentation I have done, a TED talk or another youtube movie I have seen from which you can learn. The posts cover the topics that are very important for me like storytelling, how to deal with stress, body language, how to use PowerPoint, pitching and presenting to the board. The posts are in English or Dutch. As I have been blogging for years on this topic you will see that the oldest posts go way back to 2008 when I started writing articles on this topic. I have transferred all my posts to this website which unfortunately means that I have lost all the comments and reactions which is a pity but hey…you can leave new comments right 😉

Last month I was on a 2 day training with a customer in France. It was for a huge group of young people and they were welcomed by 2 senior managers. The first manager opened the training and then gave the floor to the second manager...

I am a very happy coach today. A few weeks ago I have coached someone who has dyslexia but he had to talk to a very big audience and did not look forward to that event at all. He had presented to big audiences but...

This picture you see is my youngest son. The picture was taken last summer at the Pukkelpop festival. He was 8 years old then and it was his second festival because the year before I had taken him to Werchter. I truly believe he was...

Your presentation starts the moment you stand up! I did a training yesterday where the goal of an exercise was to 'connect' with the audience. The subject was not that important, it was all about connecting. So someone started doing his introduction though it was...

In the introduction you ideally answer the question:  ‘why is it important for the audience to listen to that presentation’. In other words ‘what’s in it for the audience ?’… Apart from the opening I advise everyone to think clearly about their last sentence. This...

Mijn opleidingsseizoen is terug gestart.

I know Katrien for years now from our studies at university Ghent where we both studied English. She recently did a TED talk and I was really amazed how well she did it because I know she is not an experienced speaker and she only...

I rarely remember names but I remember faces very well. And when this guy walked into the training room some 2 weeks ago I knew he had been in my training before. So I checked and I was right and the logical question for me...

How do you deal with stress the minute before you go on stage? Listen to the presentation tip that helps me again and again… [embed]https://youtu.be/4fx3DHPME-k[/embed]...
